StudioNow, the video editing service, has raised $1.5 million in funding led by Claritas Capital. Others participating in the round are Fred Goad and Jim Kever, the founders of Envoy.

Funding will be used for marketing purposes and technology development and operations. StudioNow has also announced several executive appointments that have been added to its management team, including Doug Marrs as the Vice President of Marketing/Sales and David Corts as the COO. The important aspect of some of StudioNow's new team members is their experience in the film industry. StudioNow launched in beta this past March, and differentiates itself by providing professional editors to create a finished movie product for you, based on the multimedia submitted by customers. It's pretty affordable to use this service--prices start at just under $10.00 for movies you'd like to purchase.
