The Stygiomedusa Gigantea is a giant, deep sea jellyfish that has only been spotted 115 times since first discovered in the early 20th century.

This video, uploaded to Youtube by Phillip Trudeau, claims to have captured one on film, using an ROV, or remotely operated underwater vehicle, 3,330-feet deep in the Gulf of Mexico.

The alien-like creature has tentacles that can grow as long as 20 feet. It's been spotted in the Gulf of Mexico before, when one giant was captured on film grasping at deep-sea equipment.

Don't worry though, the H.G. Wellian-like creature lacks any stinging tentacles and lives in the deep ocean, so it's not likely to ruin your beach day any time soon.
