The Single Greatest Way to Make a Subway Conductor's Day

A day in the life of New York City subway conductor requires much carefully planned repetition -- stop, go, make an announcement, repeat.

Part of a conductor's daily routine includes pointing at a black-and-white sign positioned at the center of every stop. Repeating this motion dozens of times each day could feel monotonous, but one group of playful jokesters decided to spice it up.

Participants in this subway experiment created signs that pointed towards the black-and-white signs, aiming to imply that the conductors agreed with whatever was written on their own signs.

The signs forced the conductors to reveal a major Harry Potter spoiler, proclaim their love for New York and admit their affection for Thomas the Tank Engine, among other things.
