Never turn down an Internet meme in need.

It's been almost eight years since Sammy Griner's face first graced your computer screens as the Success Kid meme. He was always there for you when you needed him, and now he needs our help.

Sammy's 39-year-old father, Justin Griner, needs a kidney transplant. He has been battling kidney disease since 2006, Justin's wife Laney told the Daily Dot, and experienced full kidney failure in 2009. Justin is now on kidney dialysis 12 hours a week, and a kidney transplant is the only permanent solution.

Laney created a GoFundMe page to raise $75,000 to cover the remainder of the cost of the kidney transplant and pre-treatment not covered by Medicare. At the time of writing, the campaign had raised more than $47,000 in six days.

Laney didn't explicitly mention Sammy in the campaign's description in order to keep the focus on her husband, but the Internet could recognize that face anywhere.
