DC Entertainment's upcoming Suicide Squad film has certainly made some waves since it was first announced. From the unveiling of Jared Leto's Joker (who looks more like a punk music personality than a super villain), to the news that the cast has an on-set therapist to offset the film's grim tone, the production has definitely raised some eyebrows.

But how do these new iterations of villains compare with their originals?

Comic book illustrator Kate Willaert created a handy illustration for the blog HalloweenCostumes.com to compare the old and new Suicide Squad members side-by-side.

It's pretty clear that the new Suicide Squad looks a bit more intimidating than their original overly-festooned counterparts. Probably because it's highly impractical to engage in any action sequences while wearing a top hat. If anything, the squad's new look is definitely more intimidating and mature.

And if the movie is as dark as the this new color palette, we can definitely see why a therapist might be necessary.
