World, meet Supergirl.

Warner Bros. on Friday released the first two images of former Glee star Melissa Benoist as the titular hero in the studio's Supergirl pilot for CBS -- and she looks ready for some crime fighting.

Oscar-winning costume designer Colleen Atwood -- who is also behind the costumes for CW's Flash and Arrow -- designed the costume for the pilot, which is produced by Greg Berlanti, Andrew Kreisberg and Ali Adler.

"In designing Supergirl, I wanted to embrace the past, but more importantly, thrust her into the street-style action hero of today," Atwood said in a statement.

According to a description from Warner Bros, the pilot picks up as 24-year-old Kara Danvers (Benoist) finally decides to "embrace her superhuman abilities and become the hero she was destined to be."

Supergirl, which also stars Calista Flockhart and Grey's Anatomy alum Chyler Leigh, was ordered to pilot by CBS back in September under a so-called series commitment; this means that if the network doesn't pick Supergirl up to series, it will face hefty penalties.

Networks usually announce series picks-ups in May, around the time of the annual network Upfront presentations for advertisers in New York City.

Production on Supergirl is currently underway.
