The upcoming Captain America: Civil War may be about an old U.S. propaganda hero, but hype for the next Marvel installment has become a global phenomenon.

As part of that hype, Hong Kong-based artist Tik Ka recreated the superheroes in the style of traditional Chinese operas. He mostly included characters from the upcoming Captain America film, like the captain himself and Iron Man, but he also included a few not slated to appear, such as Deadpool.

Tik Ka's interest in superheroes comes from growing up in Hong Kong during its British colonial era, where a mixture of Western and Chinese culture was commonplace, he told Mashable in an email. He previously did a similar series using Star Wars characters.
