Nostalgic '90s kids learned on Monday that the world isn't so cruel after all: The sugary green soda Surge has returned.

A cold, meaningless 12 years have passed since Coca-Cola discontinued the beverage, and the Internet has never forgotten. But our cries have been heard and Surge is available for purchase, exclusively on Amazon.

While most of us tried to fill the void with Mountain Dew, a group of heroes took action. Look no further than the Facebook group "SURGE Movement," which has amassed more than 130,000 followers and played a role in inspiring Coca-Cola to bring back our childhood in liquid form.

"We knew it was missed, but fans have been craving its citrus-flavor more than we anticipated," Sheree Robinson, a public affairs and communications representative at Coca-Cola, told Mashable.

The response was so overwhelming that Amazon briefly ran out of stock around 11 a.m. ET on Monday. Never fear, though -- the company quickly restocked, and you can purchase a 12-pack of the sweet stuff here for $14.

True-to-detail '90s kids may also be excited to learn that the same retro packaging design and taste will be used.

UPDATE: At around 1 p.m. ET Surge announced on Twitter that they had, yet again, sold out.

That's unexpected. Sold out TWICE in one day? Well, back to the factory... #SURGEisback pic.twitter.com/eWvso0lxfJ— SURGE (@SURGE) September 15, 2014
