SXSW Plague Takes Down Twitterers

SXSW this year once again became afflicted by the Twitter bug, with some anti-social partygoers spending more time checking their updates than interacting in real life. Ahem.

Meanwhile, many attendees returned home to the effects of the "SXSW plague", a flu-like virus passed on through congratulatory handshakes, packed launch parties, incestuous Twittering, real-world "friending", poking and more than a little late-night Flickr-ing. A search of Twitter lets you track its spread among revelers.

But while attendees continue to Tweet their maladies in real time, Twitter itself has come through the ordeal largely unscathed: Robert Scoble, seen below, remarked this weekend on Twitter's impressive uptime during the festival.

Scoble remained buoyant, too, finding the energy to pose for photos with multiple Mashable writers. The rest of us haven't been so fortunate.
