AUSTIN, Texas -- The annual interactive component of SXSW here is a dizzying swirl of innovation, ideas and, to be honest, hype. It all takes place in this beautiful city full of live music, friendly people and delicious food.
But it's too bad so many people here are missing out on the fun because of their smartphones. The festival is an anthropologist's dream -- you'd be hard pressed find more people zombie-walking while obliviously buried in their digital devices anywhere else this side of the dystopian future that may well await us all.

So that's why we decided to obtain a giant bear suit, as one does, and jolt some of these techies back into real world. But fear not, dear reader, we did so in the sweetest way possible: With hugs. Bear hugs.
