Sydneysiders love to complain about the weather, but in recent weeks they have had good reason. The city has been smashed apart by wild storms, hectic winds and dangerous surf.

But on Tuesday morning, the weather gods gave something back to a city waving a white flag. In a photographer's delight, Sydney was covered in fog making for the perfect snap.

The statement harbour became a picture of soft colour and natural light, while Sydneysiders breathed a sigh of relief as they slipped into the first warm day in weeks.
