It has been a long wait but the show-stopping seal from months gone by has returned to his place of worship -- the Sydney Opera House.

Last spotted sunning himself on the steps of the iconic landmark in October, the New Zealand fur seal has been the stuff of legend and T-shirt logos ever since.

On Tuesday, the furry tourist swanned in again, acting like he owns the joint by taking prime position at the north-west corner of the Opera House forecourt to sun bake his summer days away.

After no doubt an eventful spring chasing flounder, the seal is making waves on the Sydney social scene with fans from far and wide clambering over each other to get a look at the superstar.

If you need me, I'll be working from the Opera House for the rest of the day. I have a meeting. With a seal.— James Hutchinson (@j_hutch) January 12, 2015

No one can be certain if it is the October seal or an imposter who heard underwater whispers of a wondrous place where he could be a star, but either way Sydneysiders are sure glad he is here.

Melburnians not so much.

Sydney is so smug with their fucking seal. Once I was at a Docklands cafe & a huge water rat crawled under our table so it's not a big deal.— Hunter Smith (@MrHunterSmith) January 13, 2015
