It's a variant of the popular game with songs only by the legendary band (once upon a time we'd crack jokes about their stances on piracy, but enough time has gone by to leave all that aside), aimed - says the developer - at hardcore Metallica fans. As for the band themselves, drummer Lars Ulrich claims it's not about the revenue, it's about fun. "It's one more thing that'll keep me semi-cool in my kids' eyes for another six months until the next thing comes out," he said.
Besides rocking out to Metallica tunes, users will also have access to a Metallica news feed with updates on the band, challenge updates and a public battle message board. As far as the included songs go, they represent a short, but pretty good overview of the band's career:
