It's the 15th of April and for many that signifies only one thing: It's Tax day. As panic ensues nationwide in the United States, we'd like to comfort all you tax procrastinators with some Google data that shows you're not alone.

According to search data from the past few years (see above), Americans tend to wait until the very last minute before seeking out information about filing our taxes. The graph highlights that searches for "file taxes" don't start their upward trend until April 8, hitting its peak -- typically 51% above average search rates -- on the very day taxes are due.

Data from this year implies a similar trend. Google writes, "As of late last week, searches for [file taxes] had increased by 16% from last year. This spike in search interest leading up to April 15 prolongs a pattern of search trends that we’ve seen for the last several years."

So if you still haven't filed your taxes, you're obviously not alone (and we know where you are). Now that you're feeling comforted, go file those taxes.
