The majority of smart TVs are actually quite dumb. They're usually proprietary and slow. Vizio thinks Google Cast integration is a better idea. TCL, however, is betting on TVs with Roku's interface.

TCL announced Thursday that its 4K Ultra HD TCL Roku TVs (TV makers need to relax on the long names) will launch in April. A 55- and 65-inch 4K Roku TV in the S-series will cost $599.99 and $999.99, respectively.

The P130-series start at $499.99 for a 43-inch, $599.99 for a 50-inch, $699.99 for a 55-inch and $1,099.99 for a 65-inch. The P130-series 4K Roku TVs come with a Roku remote, which includes a headphone jack for private listening, voice search and a remote finder.

The aforementioned 4K Roku TVs come with a quad-core processor and TCL's Creative Pro 4K UHD Upscaling Engine to convert 1080p content to near 4K resolution.

Like the Roku 4, TCL's 4K TVs include a "4K Spotlight Channel" to better help users find 4K content to view.

"The time is right to bring these new 4K TVs to consumers as the 4K market has matured quickly over the last year, with new standards set in place and 4K content creation increasing,” said Chris Larson, TCL's Vice President of Sales and Marketing, in a press release. "The 4K TCL Roku TVs will make great Ultra HD content easily accessible for all consumers."
