Evidently, all you need to do is create a search engine for learning.  TeachStreet has created and recently launched a slick search engine designed to help you find folks in your area that can teach you anything. I got the press information, and went to go check out the site.  Unsurprisingly, I wasn't able to find anyone in my area who taught underwater basketweaving, but what was more surprising was that I couldn't even find a Spanish teacher in my area.

As it turns out, as they have just launched, they're taking a city by city approach at the moment, and have a fairly large number of teachers available to be found in the Seattle area, but very sparse results in any other cities.

The public launch of the company is accompanied by the announcement of a $2.25M Series A led by Madrona Venture Group, with other investors joining, including Bezos Expeditions.  The Angel Round was run by Amazon.com alum Jeff Blackburn, Michael George, Jason Kilar, Kim Rachmeler and Joel Spiegel, as well as ex-Expedia CEO Erik Blachford, ProgrammableWeb founder John Musser, and former RealNetworks exec Dave Richards.
