LOS ANGELES -- Now it's just getting silly.

Paramount Pictures has apparently forced the cancellation of planned screenings of Team America: World Police across the U.S. in the coming days, presumably over fears of the bogeymen from North Korea.

The Dallas-Fort Worth Alamo Drafthouse, Capitol Theatre in Cleveland and the Plaza Atlanta all tweeted the cancellations Thursday:

Please note: Our Late Shift screening of Team America: World Police has been canceled by Paramount Pictures. pic.twitter.com/TlPVzIeICW— Capitol Theatre (@CapitolW65th) December 18, 2014

Due to to circumstances beyond our control, the TEAM AMERICA 12/27 screening has been cancelled. We apologize & will provide refunds today.— Alamo Drafthouse DFW (@AlamoDFW) December 18, 2014

Breaking Plaza news : Team America World Police pulled from all theatres as per Paramount Pictures .— Plaza Atlanta (@PlazaAtlanta) December 18, 2014

Paramount Pictures did not immediately respond to Mashable's request for comment on why anyone would cancel a screening of a film that came out 10 years ago, made $50 million at the worldwide box office and is widely available for viewing at home.
