Screen Time Before Bed May Be Keeping You Awake [INFOGRAPHIC]

Do you bring a laptop or tablet into bed with you? If so, you're not alone.

We've told you about recent studies that show tablet and smartphone use before bed can keep you awake at night. Researchers at the Lighting Research Center at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute found two or more hours of exposure to backlit devices suppresses melatonin by as much as 22%. That suppression, especially in teenagers, can lead to problems getting to sleep at night.

So while you may think you're relieving stress and tension by sending late-night texts and answering email or catching up on your favorite TV show, you may actually be risking health issues that come from lost sleep.

It looks like Generation Z, or the digital generation, is most guilty of using tech before bed. Take a look at the infographic below put together by TakePart, showing which generations are using the various technologies.

Generation Z seems to be losing a lot of z's -- how about you? Do you use a computer or watch TV within an hour of going to bed? Is it keeping you up at night? Let us know in the comments.
