When it comes to weddings, there's a lot of stuff to plan. You have to check out locations for the big day, meet with caterers, taste their food, look at flowers and dresses and hotels and so much more. You'd think more people would elope.

Hearing innovative ideas such "save-the-date videos" and QR-coded invitations gives me planning envy since my wedding seating chart was actually constructed using yellow post-it notes.

Anja Winikka, site director for the wedding website The Knot tells Mashable a huge percentage of brides are planning their wedding online, just like they do everything else in their lives. They use Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest, Instagram and whatever else they can for inspiration.

With social media sites so integrated into our lives, there are new etiquette rules to consider. Do you want your guests posting pictures online before you can send out your official wedding photo? How will you handle Facebook friends who aren't invited?

We already know brides (61%) are researching vendors online before booking them and creating personal wedding webpages (69%). But we want to know even more about how technology fits into your planning. We've partnered with The Knot to find out. Head over to The Knot to take our Social Wedding Survey.

We'll be going through all the results and in the coming weeks, bring you a full report on everything from the rules for digital etiquette and wedding hashtags to all the innovative ways you've used technology to plan your wedding.

Take the survey, forward it to your engaged and newly-married friends and bring your voice to the conversation. Anything you want to tell us? Let us know in the comments below or tweet us at @TheKnot and @Mashlifestyle.
