To draw customers in to shop its painterly spring collection, UK fashion label Ted Baker is launching a digital portrait service at its stores in the UK, New York and Dublin.
Consumers are invited to stop by Ted Baker's stores in London, New York, Dublin, Glasgow, Brighton, Manchester Trafford and Leeds on Saturday, March 17. There, shoppers will be invited to try on pieces from the collection and pose for a photo in designated photobooths. Their looks will be shot using Instagram, which will then be transmitted to the 11 illustrators stationed at Ted Baker's London HQ for the occasion.
The artists, a mix of fashion illustrators, traditional watercolorists and contemporary graphic artists, will then choose to recreate the images that inspire them in the media of their choice. Digital copies will be sent immediately to those whose portraits are created and posted to Ted Baker's Facebook page; a signed, framed original will be sent to them soon after. Live and time-lapse videos of the illustrators at work will also be distributed on social channels.
