Ted Maher-Kirk has an advent calendar waiting for him at the post office. Unfortunately, he can't pick it up, because he is a cat.

Ted's owner, Brittany Maher-Kirk, missed a postal delivery from her mother containing the holiday gift. As a cheeky joke, the package was addressed to Ted.

However, Ted does not have a valid photo ID, and is thus unable to go to the post office to retrieve his calendar. He would also have trouble carrying the parcel home, because, again, he is a cat.

"I've got to ring up the Post Office Head Office and explain that my mother has sent the cat an advent calendar, addressed to the cat, and he can't pop in to pick it up himself or lend me his ID to do it for him," Maher-Kirk wrote in a Facebook post.

Good luck, Ted. We hope you find your advent calendar -- and that it is full of holiday catnip.
