Hockey can be a pretty rough-and-tumble sport. And then there are times it makes your heart melt.

During the 21st annual Petro-Canada Teddy Bear toss, the Calgary Hitmen hockey team was showered with almost 29,000 teddy bears. The annual tradition occurs during one game each December, when fans are asked to bring teddy bears. The toys are thrown onto the rink after the first goal and later, are collected and donated to charity.
