The most powerful smartphones presented this week, including the HTC One X and the LG Optimus 4X HD, are Tegra-3 based.

Tegra 3 is a system-on-a-chip that has four cores that handle intensive tasks and a fifth, companion core that takes care of lighter tasks, and it's a beast. The smartphones and tablets that have the chip simply fly in day-to-day operations, but where the chip truly shines is gaming.

While Tegra-3 powered gaming looks beautiful on smartphone and tablet screens, Nvidia set up a demonstration of how it looks on a big TV screen, and it blew us away.

We've seen similar demos before, but looking at a mobile game that looks so good on a 50-inch TV screen was a new experience. Simply put, it looks like an Xbox game, but it's actually powered by the same tiny chip that resides in top smartphones that should hit the market in 2012.

Check out the demonstration of a Tegra 3-powered third person shooter below.
