LONDON -- The best type of trolling is the kind that's so perfectly executed its difficult to tell whether or not its actually real.

The following typed letter -- which purports to be a response from Scottish brewery Tennent's Caledonian to an enquiry about holding a "giant sesh" at their establishment -- definitely falls into this category.

The letter was shared on Twitter by Glaswegian SD Ritchie, where it quickly racked up over 2,500 shares.

Fuck sake, looks like I literally can't organise a piss up in a brewery pic.twitter.com/zoJyoSGI3U— SD Ritchie (@sdritchie) February 8, 2016

Here's the letter in full.

The bad news? No matter how much we all wanted it to be real, the letter is sadly just a work of genius trolling on Ritchie's part.

When Mashable got in touch with Tennent's Lager, they sent across the following statement from George Kyle (who they described as "the REAL head of PR"):

"We’re glad to say that the letter isn’t actually real. Poor Deano hasn’t had his heart broken and we’ve absolutely nothing against Airdrie and Coatbridge. Someone’s just gone to extraordinary lengths to try and get a free pint -- or a few retweets on Twitter.”
