Surrounded by bruiser security types, there was no driving it today, or sitting in it, or even opening its doors. But when we peeked into its windows, we noticed its spiffy instrument panel -- which we're told is run by an NVIDIA graphics processor -- actually appeared to be working.

So what's a "reasonably priced" Model S electric sedan going to cost? At least $49,000, but that's a far cry from the $110,000+ price of the sporty two-seater, the Tesla Roadster. Gazing at this gleaming crimson carriage, we were filled with want. Unfortunately, we're going to have to wait until 2012 to fulfill such a fantasy.
