There's the midas touch and then there's the Prince George Effect.

It's no secret that Kate Middleton has become a style icon, but following in her chic footsteps is her 1-year old son, George, whose influence in the sartorial sphere may have overshadowed his mum's. Whatever the tiny tyke has worn has turned into pure fashion gold, with sales of whatever garments he wears virtually selling out.

Just how influential is he? Well, take some recently reported sales figures from Crocs as an example of his power. After he wore the curious rubber clogs, possibly best known for being the go-to shoe for Mario Batali, sales of the brand reportedly surged 1,500% on Amazon, according to Grazia (We are in the process of confirming those numbers with the company).

Grazia reported that Crocs flew off the shelves after the prince was spotted at the Festival of Polo sporting a pair, as did the cardigan he wore, from the brand Oliver Baby and Kid. It reportedly sold out in 48 hours.

It's not the first time this phenomenon has occurred, so the sales spike is certainly plausible.

He started shifting stock at a young age -- just two days after he was born, to be precise. The royal was spotted sporting a £20 Printed White Aden + Anais wrap as he left the Lindo Wing of St. Mary's hospital with his parents, the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge. The company's website quickly crashed and sales of the swaddling cloth shot up 600% in nine days, according to the Associated Press.

Multiple reports say that children's apparel sales have sky rocketed in the United Kingdom because of Prince George, and the royal tyke was responsible for a £247 million economy boost around the time of his birth -- that's $388,667,000. Not only is he a fashion icon, he's an economic miracle. All hail the little prince!
