The 2016 Dakar Rally in photos

The 2016 Dakar Rally brings off road vehicle racers and enthusiasts from all over the world to witness the dirt, gas, and pure adrenaline of the intense sport. The distance of each stage varies but can be around 500 miles per day. The 37th running event started in Buenos Aires, Argentina on January 2 and will run through Argentina and Bolivia. This is the 8th consecutive year the rally has been held in South America. On January 16, the most dauntless competitors will climb on the podium in Rosario to end the race's 13 stages.
