The iPhone 5 Hits the Stores Today, Fans Form Lines All Over the World

It's hardly news, but it's still a big deal for many: The iPhone 5 hits the stores in many countries around the world today, including the U.S. and the UK.

Hundreds of tech enthusiasts have lined up to buy Apple's latest smartphone, and Twitter is abuzz with their anecdotes and impressions.

iOS 6 Captures 15% of Overall iOS Traffic in the First Day of Availability [REPORT]

One day after the it was released, 15% of iOS devices were running iOS 6, Chartboost claims. iPhone owners were apparently the first to update, followed by iPad and iPod touch owners.

Apple Defends Maps, Claims It's Just Getting Started

Apple has been hit with criticism over its Maps app, which replaced the Google Maps app in iOS 6 as default, but the company claims the app will get better.

“We launched this new map service knowing that it is a major initiative and we are just getting started with it. We are continuously improving it, and as Maps is a cloud-based solution, the more people use it, the better it will get. We’re also working with developers to integrate some of the amazing transit apps in the App Store into iOS Maps,” spokeswoman Trudy Muller told AllThingsD.
