The Muppets are back -- but in a way you've never seen them before.
In the first trailer for ABC's forthcoming series, the beloved characters are candid, they date humans, and they even talk to the camera.

That was, of course, the intension of the series, which was officially picked up by the network last week.
"The original Muppets was making fun of all the variety shows that were going on at the time and thought 'Why don't we go out and make fun of all the mockumentaries?'" ABC president Paul Lee explained to reporters Tuesday morning. "The Muppets isn't going to look like The Muppets looked the last time [it was] on TV."
Meanwhile, ABC released trailers for some of their other new shows, which you can watch below, starting with The Catch, a new show from Shonda Rhimes.
