Alejandro G. Iñárritu's The Revenant is a story of survival about a man who must face the elements armed only with the powerful force of his own exhalations.

The recently-minted Oscar winner's next film is really a fact-based drama about 19th century fur trapper Hugh Glass (Leonardo DiCaprio), who was mauled by a bear and left for dead by his hunting team. But Glass survived -- and, according to the film, vowed revenge against the men who had betrayed him, including his buddy John Fitzgerald (Tom Hardy).
Could this be the film that finally breaks longtime Oscar bridesmaid DiCaprio's losing streak? We won't know until next year -- but we do know that the movie features plenty of dramatic vistas, shaky cam-enhanced violence, guttural male bellowing, matted pelts, and beards, beards, beards.
