Stunning photos of the solar eclipse

The total solar eclipse on Friday morning was breathtaking, if you were in the right spot.

The rare event was seen as a total eclipse in the tiny Faroe Islands and Svalbard, and a partial eclipse from Scotland to northern Africa. Across the UK and Europe, thousands watched the event unfold.
