Singapore's come a long way in a relatively short span of time. "The Violin" shows the country in the 1930s when it was part of the British empire, in darker times during the Japanese Occupation in World War II, and up to its present-day metropolis.

The animated short movie was directed by Ervin Han, who runs an animation firm in Singapore.
