A frontrunner was eliminated on 'The Voice,' and we are not pleased

What just happened? To keep this short and sweet: America got it wrong.

The majority of Tuesday's episode was devoted to performances by Nick Jonas and all four teams. And then one by one, artists were sent into safety. Up for elimination were Brian Johnson, Deanna Johnson and Mia Z. (undeservedly so). As a reminder, Mia Z. is a young blues-y performer with the ability hit notes that only high-note geniuses like Mariah Carey and Ariana Grande can reach.

Singing for her life, Mia Z. belted Allman Brothers' "Stormy Monday," bringing the coaches to their feet. Pharrell commended Mia, reminding America that the artist is at the top three slots of iTunes' Blues Top Songs. Mia's range is unfathomable, although at times her impressive runs kept her from enunciating the lyrics.

Apparently, Mia Z. did not do enough to impress the voting audience. Could lack of enunciation really be the dog that bit her? Instead, Deanna Johnson -- who did, in fact, sing a great rendition of Bruno Mars' "It Will Rain" -- was saved.

Twitter was shouting for Mia, as #VoiceSaveMia was trending.

We're sad to say goodbye to Mia, but we're sure that she isn't going to disappear completely -- not if her coach Pharrell has anything to do with it.

Hopefully next week we can get back on track.
