It's hurtful to have to utter the following words, but Kimberly Nichole was eliminated from The Voice last night. We're not quite sure how this bummer of an outcome occurred, but we're definitely not the only disappointed ones out there.

As we stated in our recap of the performance episode of this week, Kimberly Nichole sang her two songs incredibly well. The audience and the coaches were in agreement: Nichole was on fire.

So, what happened? Did the Internet somehow disregard Nichole's votes? Why weren't people purchasing her music on iTunes? Why?? There has to be some kind of explanation, because by no means did she deserve to leave.

Heck, we already believed she deserved to win.

Instant Save

The Instant Save was between Nichole and another Team Christina contestant, India Carney, who America saved last week.

Carney and Nichole both performed well, but again, our vote would have gone to Nichole in a heartbeat. Even Carney was shocked.

There are those in the Twittersphere who believe it's a rigged competition:

#VoiceSaveKimberly is trending worldwide with 374k tweets. What happened @NBCTheVoice @CarsonDaly ????? What r u up to?— QueenTina (@1legendX) May 6, 2015

We're not jumping to those conclusions just yet, but we're feeling a little duped.

Need more proof or a refresher of Kimberly Nichole's talent? Take a look at these:

There's really not much else to say. Maybe Nichole's unexpected departure can help her post-Voice career. We've seen it with American Idol -- singers like Jennifer Hudson, Adam Lambert, Clay Aiken and Chris Daughtry didn't win, but went on to have incredible careers.

Hopefully the same will happen with Nichole.
