No surprise here: AMC wants more episodes of its biggest hit.

The network announced on Friday that it has renewed The Walking Dead for a seventh season, set to air next year.

This, of course, was a no-brainer choice, as the series continues to be the No. 1 show on television with adults in the key 18-49 demographic -- a distinction it has held for the last three years.

AMC also renewed TWD's Chris Hardwick-hosted after show, Talking Dead.

The move comes after a summer that saw the debut of The Walking Dead spin-off Fear the Walking Dead, which earned a second season more than a month before its series debut.

While it is not uncommon for shows to cool in the ratings as they age, The Walking Dead has seen the opposite be true as more fans hop aboard current seasons after catching up on Netflix.

The most recent episode, which left on character's fate in question, pulled in 18.2 million viewers (12 million in the key demo) with three days of time-shifted viewing taken into account.

The Walking Dead airs Sundays on AMC.
