The annual four-day Thingyan Water Festival -- also known as the biggest water fight in the world -- wrapped up in Myanmar this weekend.

The festival, which marks the beginning of the Burmese New Year, is observed in the country as a public holiday. In Myanmar, it is believed that the water washes away evils and sins.

There was a dark side surrounding the festival and the people trying to get there; Times of India reports that 11 people were killed, and more than 130 injured, in automobile accidents related to drug and alcohol consumption.
