Bill Gates Wants to Hear From You; Jerry Not Cancelled

As it turns out, Jerry hasn't really been canned as ValleyWag previously reported, and the ad agency producing the Bill and Jerry ad spots is plenty confused at the assertion that they've been cancelled. Gizmodo has the story:

From a trusted Crispin Porter + Bogusky source, we've learned that some sites have jumped the gun and that the Microsoft Gates/Seinfeld ads have not been axed. [...] In fact, CPB has another completed spot featuring the lovable, affluent couple in the can, ready to air (even though it won't quite yet). And while the agency has prioritized development to the anti-Mac ads, there are still full plans to go ahead and produce more Seinfeld/Gates spots unless Microsoft were to pull the plug first (which, once again, they have not at this time).

As for the new ads, which focus more on the human element that I alluded to in my previous analysis, they're out now and seem to be more well recieved by the tech blogger set:

Aside from the tone of the commercial itself, Bill Gates advertises his new email address during his brief appearance in the spot. The old one I still have in my address book is [email protected], but the new one is listed as [email protected].
