The force can help defeat the Galactic Empire -- or with thrift shopping.

Canadian artist David Vancook found a creative way to upgrade bland landscapes and boring scenes found in forgotten resale shop art by modifying them with bits of Star Wars. These once discarded relics from a long, long time ago find new life with Stormtroopers, AT-AT walkers and space ships.

The wonderfully nerdy series also shows a different side to everyone's favorite intergalactic franchise. Who wouldn't want to see a Stormtrooper ordering lunch at a sophisticated bistro or Darth Vader enjoying a nice, summer breeze? He may be totally evil, but even Sith Lords get a day off.

More of Vancook's Second Hand Star Wars paintings can be seen on his Facebook page. He also continues to search new thrift stores on Tatooine and Hoth for paintings to use.
