The Christmas tree is as synonymous with the holiday season as Santa Claus and presents. In the United States alone, roughly 33 million trees were sold in the last year, according to a recent Mashable Spotlight piece that delved into the bustling Christmas tree market.
Oregon is known as one of the world's biggest producers of Christmas trees, so chances are -- if it's real -- that tree sitting in your living room came from the Pacific Northwest.
