It looks like Tiger Woods has decided to give Twitter a try. On Wednesday morning, the pro golfer sent out a tweet reading, “What’s up everyone. Finally decided to try out twitter!”
Although Woods’s first tweet technically happened way back in June 2009, his only activity to-date has been three tweets promoting social media accounts and his official website. This is also the first tweet we’ve seen from Woods that at least sounds like it’s coming from him directly.
Woods’s re-emergence on Twitter represents an interesting twist in the saga the world’s formerly top ranked golfer has been entangled in since Thanksgiving weekend 2009. Widely maligned for the way he handled the press in the wake of his car accident and infidelity revelations, it would now appear social media may be a part of how Woods hopes to rebuild his image.
