Tim Cook to Return to AllThingsD's Kitchen

Tim Cook will make his second appearance as CEO of Apple at the annual D: All Things Digital conference in California this month, the publication revealed. Cook will headline the three-day conference on the opening night.

D11 is due to kick off on Tuesday, May 28, at the Terranea Resort in Rancho Palos Verdes, Calif. The opening session begins at 6 p.m. Pacific Time, where hosts Walt Mossberg and Kara Swisher will introduce Cook and interview him, according to a post on AllThingsD. Typically the interview is followed by a short Q&A with the exclusive audience of technology journalists and analysts.

Cook made his first appearance at the conference last year, discussing Apple post-Steve Jobs, his company's ongoing legal war with Samsung and various products. Cook made news during the session by hinting that Apple would probably kill its failed social network, Ping, which it did a few months later.

Cook joins many other boldface names in tech who are speaking at D11, including Facebook's Sheryl Sandberg, Motorola's Dennis Woodside, Pinterest's Ben Silberman, Sony's Kaz Hirai, Google's Sundar Picha and others.

Former Apple CEO Steve Jobs made regular appearances at the D conference before his resignation and death. Jobs once famously appeared onstage at the conference alongside Bill Gates, a meeting that almost never happened when Gates bristled at an earlier comment from Jobs that iTunes on Windows was like giving someone in hell a glass of ice water.
