We already know that Craigslist is full of creepers, and dating sites aren't really for everyone -- so what to do when you're lookin' for a lady and channels both RL and virtual are skint? Make an online informercial, of course.
Meet Tim Goggin, a.k.a. TimWOW, a 32-year-old San Diego-based comedian and entrepreneur who, after getting fed up with the chicks on sites like eHarmony and Match.com, created a website and accompanying commercial hawking...well...himself.
And, apparently, the shtick is working out for Goggin -- his Snuggie-esque commercial has been viewed more than 100,000 times since it went up on YouTube on August 2, and he's already gone on around 12 dates so far, according to relationship advice blog WTF Is Up With My Love Life?.
Although Goggin's vid is a little in the realm of those creepy dating reels from the '80s, he's part of a recent trend of extreme techno-romantics (to steal a term from the aforementioned blog, WTF?).
