Grace Spelman is a girl living in an immaterial world. And she just wants to be loved.

The 22-year-old actress and comedian began her journey into the terrifying world of online dating world by proposing an even more terrifying -- and hilarious -- idea to her followers on Twitter on Dec. 14. Spelman decided she would join Tinder as an actual, bonafide ghost.

"I tweeted the idea as a joke first. Then, during finals week, I put the plan into action and it became a form of procrastination," said Spelman to Mashable.

She began to build out her Tinder profile, creating a character that was loosely based on herself -- just a non-corporeal self that had seen the horrifying truth of the afterlife. Of course, this is the making of comedy gold.

Spelman manipulated photos of herself to make her face look like a swirling wormhole, and wrote darkly humorous answers to Tinder's profile questions. Her biography reads, "I haven't felt the temptation to partake of succulent human flesh since my execution for crimes against humanity."

In order to interact with as many people as possible, Spelman had to become a very active ghost. "I swiped right on every profile that came up...I got over 20 'I'm confused...but aroused' messages. It's hard to define 'weird' in this situation," said Spelman.

Of course, Spelman's main goal was never about meeting men, but rather about playing a joke -- a joke that not a lot of people really understood. "A lot of men would start off angry. They would begin our conversations already upset at the fact that they were being trolled."

Even though most of the men she encountered on Tinder, Spelman said, responded in anger, confusion or plain obliviousness, they all bothered to swipe right to contact her in hopes of hooking up. "Online dating has taught me there are a lot of unfunny men out there," she said.

Spelman has been sharing her haunting online dating experiences on her Twitter account.
