Tinder users will soon be able to pay for extra features that may not be related to dating.

The company is slated to roll out an update in November that adds extra paid features, CEO Sean Rad said in an interview with Forbes.

Rad did not elaborate on what the app's upcoming changes would be, but he said the current service, which matches users based on who's nearby, would not change.

“Our core offering that you have right now is always going to remain free,” Rad said. “Next month we’re going to release a few premium features that we’re totally excited about. It’s two things that our users have been asking for for a very long time and we think there’s a great opportunity for us to introduce these features and because we’re confident the value is there…we’re going to charge for it.”

Though the CEO didn't go into detail about the changes, he hinted the company was looking to take advantage of the ways Tinder users "hack" the service for purposes other than dating. Users may take to Tinder to promote their Instagram accounts, get local recommendations when visiting a new city or even find potential business partners, for example.

“We hear all these cases where people [are] using Tinder outside of dating," Rad said. "There’s all these various hacks and it’s great. We’re now learning from our users and those hacks to find the next opportunities.”

Though Tinder is known for its gesture-based matchmaking system, the company has experimented with other features related to dating in the past. Last summer, the app was updated with a matchmaker feature, that allowed users to introduce mutual Facebook friends via Tinder. And Rad revealed plans to roll out a verification system for the app's celeb users earlier this year.
