Turtles don't really need shoes. Their webbed, clawed feet allow them to move around easily, regardless of terrain. Anthropomorphic turtles who battle New York City criminals using ninjutsu, on the other hand, might want a pair of killer sneakers.
That's what designers Hussain Almossawi and Quintin Williams thought, at least. So they sketched a pair of shoes specifically for the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles.
Leonardo, Donatello, Michelangelo and Raphael have never been the kinds of turtles to splurge on fancy footwear; the closest they've come to wearing shoes is sporting bandages around their heels. But Almossawi and Williams think it would be hard for the crime-fighting reptiles to turn down such a fashion-forward and tech-savvy design.

Almossawi combined his background in product design with Williams' experience in footwear development to create a shoe that is both chic and ergonomic. The shoe is laceless, featuring only a zip-closure for maximum efficiency. Vents on the top of the shoe provide breathability (turtles can absorb oxygen through their skin, after all) while echoing the hexagonal pattern of a turtle's shell. A ribbon ankle wrap is a nod to the style the ninja turtle's are accustomed to.
The shoe's black, white and lime green color scheme acts like camouflage, matching the turtles' own skin tone while also allowing them to blending into their surroundings.
Don't get too passionate about purchasing the shoes for yourself, though. For one thing, the shoes only exist as mock-ups and not as physical products. Second, the designers catered to the turtle's unique foot shape and two large, separated toes. So unless you're willing to uncomfortably split your toes down the middle, it looks like these shoes are fit for a ninja turtle and only a ninja turtle.
