SINGAPORE -- Just 1% of you have admitted to taking work conference calls while sitting on the can -- but that's probably 1% too many.

SurveyMonkey polled 602 adults in Singapore, and people confessed to some of their multi-tasking habits in the toilet. More than half took calls on the toilet, nearly that number said they texted people, and 22% worked on emails.

Somewhat disturbingly, 4% said they took pictures in there; another 1% probably felt pictures weren't sufficient, and FaceTimed friends instead.

Ironically, 48% said they thought it was "inappropriate" to use their mobile phones while on the toilet. Nonetheless, 68% indicated that they still did it.

Naturally, with all of this activity going on, it's hardly surprising that 14% have dropped their phones into the toilet at some point.

SurveyMonkey sent us the findings on World Toilet Day, a day officially recognised by the United Nations and which has the goal of raising awareness of global sanitation issues. With countries where the vast majority of the population lacks access to adequate toilets, we should be thankful that the biggest hazard for some of us is dropping our phones into the bowl.
