Wanderlusting introverts, rejoice. Now you can travel the world and stay inside all at once.
The Book and Bed hotel in Tokyo, Japan, may not have a lot of fancy accommodations like plushy pillows or recommendations of places to go sight-seeing around the city. However, what it does have is 1,700 books in both Japanese and English to curl up with while you're on your vacation.
The cozy yet minimal hostel-style spot seems more like a place where people can stay-in rather than go out on the town. Book and Bed calls itself an "accommodation book shop," where guests can read themselves to sleep. Books are not sold there, though.
According to the website, "the perfect setting for a good nights sleep is something you will not find here. There are no comfortable mattresses, fluffy pillows nor lightweight and warm down duvets."

They do have beds and pillows to sleep on, just don't expect them to be king-size clouds you might find in a five-star hotel. Those couches look kind of comfy, though.
The hotel is outfitted to accommodate up to 30 guests, although it may be in close quarters. The dorm-like layout doesn't offer much privacy, but you may not need it if you're basically spending your vacation in a pretty library with beds.
The hotel just opened earlier in November and is almost completely booked through the rest of the month.
Rooms cost between 3,500 JPY (about US$29) for a "compact" room, and 4,500 JPY (about US$37) for a "standard" room.

Of course, if you did want to get out and see the rest of Tokyo, you could still do that. The hotel is nestled in a convenient area of the Ikebukuro district, with plenty of access to restaurants, shopping and even the Tokyo Metropolitan Theatre.
And when you're done exploring the city, you can fall asleep reading a book.
