Nothing says it's Super Bowl season like a story involving Tom Brady and balls.

Brady's balls were the dominant storyline heading into last year's Super Bowl. The Patriots star will miss Super Bowl 50 after being eliminated in the NFL playoffs last weekend -- but even in defeat, he's managed to deliver a spheroid storyline.

The Denver Broncos harassed and harangued Brady relentlessly while beating the Patriots Sunday. Denver hit Brady more than he'd been hit in any game this season. The pummeling was so bad that New England actually fired its offensive line coach after the game.

But the Broncos also tried to make life miserable for Brady in, um, other ways, according to a report from Sports Illustrated's Robert Klemko.

“I tried to lay on him a few times,” an unidentified Broncos defender said after the game. “I tried to rub my nuts on his face.”

The future Hall of Fame quarterback finished just 27 for 56 passing on Sunday.

“Brady had to know who we had on this line, and we knew his line wasn't very good coming into the game," linebacker Shaquil Barrett told Klemko. “So he had to expect this.”

Well, maybe not all of it.
