Well, one high school in California certainly hopes that such a lofty assumption is true.

Kerman High School is attempting to convince Tom Hanks to attend their homecoming dance on October 9 by using a simple, yet ingenious, tactic: tweeting until the beloved movie star just can't stand it anymore.

“Homecoming is a huge event for our whole community so each year we pick a theme," Assistant Principal Margaret Nichols tells ABC News. "This year it’s Tom Hanks movies. And then everyone thought, ‘Well, let's try to get him here.’”
