Years after Tony Hawk was the first person to successfully land a 900 at the 1999 X Games, the professional skater is still pushing the limits of the sport.

Recently, Hawk teamed up with Sony Action Cam to build a horizontal loop, which Hawk claims is the first of its kind.

"So, this is all my crazy idea," Hawk states in the video, adding that he truly had no idea how he was going to approach the ramp.

After a few attempts with some padding to break Hawk's fall, the 47-year-old skater started to get the hang of it. Eventually his team removed the pads and Hawk attempted the ramp without a comfortable landing spot.

And he takes the full brunt of the ramp to his shoulder. Ouch.

Despite questioning if the whole thing would even work, Hawk successfully tackled the full loop on his next run. He ended the last bit somewhat awkwardly, but he still stuck the landing.
